Things We Love January 06 2015

The best part about the end of the holiday season is that you can {and should} take this time to focus on YOU. Whether that means taking more time for yourself each week, making more time for friends, budgeting or saving smarter or getting in better shape, this is an exciting time to work towards those goals!

Learning a new language is an exciting goal. If you're planning an exciting trip abroad, or if you're just looking to learn another language for personal interest, Duolingo is a free and effective website to help you achieve that goal! Duolingo takes you through every step of learning a new language.

If you've noticed your jeans fitting just a little bit tighter after all the holiday parties, now is a great time to get back into shape. One morning ritual we've found helpful isn't the best tasting, but it's good for digestion, metabolism, balancing sugar levels and equalizing your internal pH levels.

    • 6 oz warm water
    • half a lemon, squeezed
    • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
    • stevia to taste
    • Cinnamon {optional}
    • Cayenne Pepper {optional}

Blend the above ingredients and drink. Note: This drink isn't consumed for it's exquisite taste. We recommend having water nearby to wash out the taste immediately after consuming.

Many goals made at the new year include vows to eat healthier. We like this recipe of energy bites for a healthier alternative for when cravings strike.

Here's the recipe for healthier, no-bake energy bites

1/2 cup chocolate chips (coco powder and stevia can be used for a low-cal substitution)

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup oatmeal, dry

1/2 cup peanut butter (you can used pb2 as a low cal substitution)

1/4 cup honey

1 tbsp chia seeds

1/2 cup ground flax seed

Mix together all ingredients and enjoy
